Grilled Mochi and Daikon Miso Soup

For two servings

2 piece / MOCHI
2" / SMALL DAIKON RADISH
2" / SMALL CARROT
2 tbsp / WHITE MISO
2 cup / DASHI BROTH

LEAFY VEGETABLES such as arugula, watercress, mizuna and mitsuba(ideal, if you find any!) to serve
WHITE SESAME SEEDS to serve


  1. Grill mochi on a cast iron pan until nice and golden. (Don't mind a little char) Turn occasionally.
  2. Peel and slice daikon and carrot.
  3. In a pot heat up dashi broth, add vegetables and cook until tender.
  4. Stir in miso paste using a strainer.
  5. Add mochi to pot, heat a little.
  6. Garnish with leafy vegetables and sesame. Serve hot.
